- Where are you from and where did you go to college?
I am from Fairport, New York but live in Buffalo. I am a student at St. John Fisher College. - What was the deciding factor or influence in your life that moved you in the direction to choose accounting as your major?
I took an accounting class in high school and while most people thought it was hard and boring, I enjoyed it. I thought of it as a puzzle. My job was to put the puzzle together and create a picture that others outside of accounting could understand. - What is something someone would be surprised to learn about you?
People would be surprised to learn that I am left handed, but play many sports and games with either my right or both hands. - What do you like to do outside of work? Hobbies, creative ventures?
When it is cold I like to snowboard and watch hockey. When it is warm I like to be on the water as much as I can. I also enjoy watching lacrosse! - What are you hoping to learn more about as you begin your accounting career?
I am excited to learn about the different departments you can work in. Right now I am doing business tax. DKB offers other areas of accounting and services that I still have yet to experience. - What things have you learned about our firm or about the accounting profession that intrigues you since you came on board or had an interest in prior to joining our firm?
I have learned how much DKB cares about you as a person and an accountant. They want to put every employee in a position to succeed and be able to grow, both professionally and personally.
