Mike spearheads DKB’s Valuation Practice, as well as providing tax planning and compliance services to small – medium privately held businesses.  As the firm’s business valuation expert Mike provides valuation and transaction advisory services for clients in the merger and acquisition, exit and transition and litigation support space.   Mike’s tax clients mainly operate in the real state, manufacturing & distribution, and high-tech space.  In addition he provides valuation services to a variety of businesses and professionals including those looking to sell/gift a business interest, establish a charitable trust, issue options to key employees, set up an ESOP, etc.  He also helps partners/shareholders and others that may need litigation support and financial reporting services.  The combination of Mike’s valuation and tax expertise provides for a well-rounded knowledge of business and economic trends.

Mike’s knowledge of his clients business comes from real life experience, and his keen interest in absorbing and sharing knowledge.  He is a regular thought leader to DKB’s knowledge center, and is in constant communication with his clients on technical and industry trends that may impact them.

Mike’s background as commercial credit analyst and portfolio manager at a regional bank, as well as his time spent playing professional lacrosse, brings a unique personality and collection of expertise to each of his client’s situations.

Andrew is a Manager in DKB’s Financial Assurance Practice.  His primary focus is on providing consulting, audit, review and compilation services to the business clients of DKB.   He works hard to understand each of his client’s personal and professional goals, so he can develop innovative and accurate solutions to help them succeed.

Andrew’s primary focus is in the Real Estate Industry where he services large real estate corporations, as well as REITs.  He also services clients in the distribution, healthcare and professional services fields.  His specific technical expertise lies in the areas of service organization control audits (SOC), real estate investment funds, acquisitions, and internal control assessments.

Before joining DKB, Andrew worked as an accountant for an international public accounting firm. The combination of Andrew’s experience working with clients in both the public and private sector, clients of varying sizes, and in numerous different industries enables him to provide unique insights and knowledge to each of his clients.

Andrew currently resides in Fairport with his wife Alissa. In his free time, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, golfing and playing basketball, volunteering at local organizations, and traveling.

Vikki is a manager in DKB’s Not-for-Profit practice. Her collaborative approach to working with her clients allows for real-time communication, and an increased awareness to her client’s unique motivations. By looking at her client’s specific business needs, and understanding their industry in its entirety, she can fully identify risks and opportunities.

With over ten years of experience in audit and accounting, Vikki works with some of our largest not-for-profit clients. She specializes in the audits of not-for-profit organizations which include social service organizations, health and welfare agencies, churches, foundations, educational and cultural institutions, and country clubs. These not-for-profit organizations receive funding from a variety of sources including private contributions, government and private grants and member fees. Her specific expertise lies in the technical areas of tax exempt organization return preparation, unrelated business income, Consolidated Fiscal Reports, and audits under Government Accounting Standards.

Prior to joining DKB, Vikki worked for the audit division for an international public accounting firm and as an assistant controller in the private sector for a publicly traded company.

Vikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from San Diego State University. She is a member of the AICPA and NYSSCPA.

Vikki lives in Penfield with her husband and two children. She is active in her community supporting the fundraising activities for her clients and she enjoys various sporting activities including volunteering her time reviewing the financial activities for her son’s hockey team.

Janet is a Manager in DKB’s Tax Practice.  She delivers personal tax consulting and compliance services, and trust and estate consulting services to her individual clients.

Janet’s background as a paralegal, before moving into the accounting industry, provides her with a unique skill set to advise on estate planning, trust and estate administration and fiduciary tax return planning and compliance.  She stays up to date with legislation surrounding the federal estate tax and other filing requirements.  Taking a long term look at her client’s situations, Janet advises on planning opportunities that may save their estate significant tax dollars.  This helps to ease the tax burden on an individual’s family members down the road.

The administration of trusts and estates is complicated.  Janet understands all the rules that go into the preparation of estate and trust income tax returns.  This allows for trustees to have peace of mind that they are handling their responsibilities with expert oversight.

With years of experience in the industry, Janet has relationships with many key advisors and collaborates with them to provide her client’s with a well-rounded experience.
